The year is winding down. It’s time to slow down, reflect, be present with ourselves and with loved ones. I’ll admit that I’m way better at this than I used to be. This will be the second year in a row that I’ve taken the ladder half of December off from work, mostly because I have shifted my priorities to spend this time with Mr. Claus and our little elf (little elf pictured below). But, up until the ripe age of 36, I worked as much as I possibly could, right up until the holidays. I was stressed, rushed, and my brow was constantly furrowed.
The technique I have in here for you is the head and skull massage and in case you need convincing that there is something to work on here, well…here’s a diagram for you:

Relaxing the fascia of your head and face is a fast way to drop into your parasympathetic, i.e., the most relaxed state of your nervous system. If you’re feeling stressed, headachey or wired, let this be the thing that brings you back to earth. Plus, I don’t know about you but just thinking about a head massage makes me want to take a nap. In fact, my husband Trevor asks me to massage his head and face almost every night before bed because he gets it.

We celebrate Christmas in my house and on Christmas Eve, we make and decorate cookies for Santa. This was last year’s batch and last year, Santa ate half of his own face.
