Happy Friday, June 23rd!
Move emotions and stress OUT of your body this weekend.
Dudes. This weekend my family and I planned to haul fourteen adults and ten children up to Northern California to a fabulous pool house for a fun weekend. At least two families have now come down with Covid, and the question of how to handle the situation + emotions had my chest feeling real tight.
Know what I do when stress triggers me? I take a full Release Technique roll class. It reminds me how to breathe, physically relaxes my tension and brings my nervous system back into a Parasympathetic state. The hour absolutely FLIES by.

Let’s get Gluteal.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, 90% of the lower back pain that my Fascial Stretch Therapy clients come onto my table with is caused by their glute tension.
The glutes support the spine and really the entire back line of the body. They’re a huge power system behind the way you run, walk and stand.
When the glutes are underutilized, they can become stiff and forget how to engage, passing off the job of supporting the back line of the body to the back muscles.
When they are overused, the tension within them creates dysfunctional engagement and they end up passing off the job of supporting the back line of the body to the back muscles.
Cue lower back strain, tension and pain.
In both scenarios, rolling the glutes properly and well will both wake them up and smooth them out. Cue functionality and harmony.
